It's a new episode of Cat Chat!

Today’s episode is focused on one of the most important milestones for young families, starting school. With Kindergarten Roundup just around the corner, we wanted to help parents better understand what the early years look like and how to prepare their children for success.

Mr. Walker sits down with three of our outstanding teachers, representing Pre-K Maddi High, Developmental Kindergarten Brittney Gmeiner, and Kindergarten Amy Ramos. They'll be talking about the differences between these programs, what families can do at home to build readiness, and what the first weeks of school are really like. Whether your child is approaching school age now or in the near future, our goal is to give you helpful insight and reassurance as you plan for this exciting step. https://sites.libsyn.com/497938/season-3-episode-13-kindergarten-round-up

Mrs. High's Preschool class had some special visitors today - red worms and nightcrawlers! The class is starting a unit on plants and kicked it off by learning about worms and their role in growing big, strong plants! They learned about the body parts of a worm, what a worm eats, how it moves through the soil, and the nutrients it gives back with its castings.

Meet Primitiva McClellan, Cooks Helper at Brandywine Elementary!

Primitiva graduated from Brandywine in 2015 and has been working at the school for four years. She loves coming to work and seeing students enjoying their lunch.

She has two kids - a second grader and a kindergartener. In their free time they enjoy playing games, playing with their two pet rats, and going on walks when it's warm! Thank you for being a Bobcat, Primitiva!

Eighth graders played a classic round of The Oregon Trail recently!

It turns out that managing oxen and river crossings is a lot harder than they expected. The class had one successful arrival in Oregon, but plenty of broken wagon wheel axels and dysentery on the way. Who remembers how stressful 8-bit graphics can be!?

Optimism means having a positive attitude and believing that good things will happen. It’s about expecting the best from situations, focusing on solutions rather than problems, and keeping hope even when things are difficult.
