Lauren Smyth from St. Margaret’s House recently visited our school to accept a $600 donation from our middle school elective class, Creative Cats.
Creative Cats teaches students foundational entrepreneurial skills as they develop and carry out a business plan. Throughout the semester, students design craft projects, create handmade items, and sell their products, all with the goal of raising money to donate to an organization they choose together.
This semester, students selected St. Margaret’s House, an organization that provides essential services to women in the South Bend area. Way to go, Cats!

Our little learners have been practicing their writing skills, by identifying parts of a sentence and learning personal narratives. Seeing a student transition from scribbles to sentences is a front row seat experience!

More than just a seat in the classroom—a voice in the circle. ⭕️❤️ When students feel seen and heard, they are more ready to learn. That's why our elementary students practice Circle Time.
Build Real Connections: Classmates get to know each other on a deeper level, creating a true sense of belonging.
Grow in Confidence: When a student’s ideas are valued by peers and teachers, their self-esteem soars.
Practice Empathy: Students learn the life-long skills of active listening and mutual respect.
Take Ownership: Circles allow students to learn from one another, sharing the lead in their own education.
By prioritizing Social and Emotional Learning (SEL), we aren't just teaching academics—we’re building a kinder, more inclusive community. 🌟 #thebrandywinedifference
