Magic, Morals, and Myths! Oh my! Brandywine Elementary is celebrating March is Reading Month with a slate of activities, including Dress Up Days.
Friday, March 6 - Dress cozy so we can curl up with a good book!
Friday, March 13 - Dress up like an idiom or a word with a silent letter.
Friday, March 20 - Dress in all black for black out day. No technology today!
Friday, March 27 - Dress up as your favorite character from a myth, fairy tale or fable.

Students in fifth grade STEM class solved a special conundrum last week!
They had three lions and three wildebeests that had to cross a river, without the lions outnumbering the wildebeests on either side, while also having a max of two animals on the raft at each time, and one to row it back to the other side. How'd they do it?

The Senior Photo will be taken on March 6 at 10 a.m. in the high school gym. Seniors should make arrangements to be at school for the photo!

We're sharing what members of our staff are reading. Primitivia McClellan, Cooks Helper, is currently reading Tuesdays with Morrie by Mitch Albom! She first read the book in ninth grade, right here at Brandywine, suggested by English teacher Mr. Brenneman.
"It definitely gives you a different outlook on life and how you treat people," she said.

The Girls Basketball team will start their journey in the playoffs on Wednesday, March 4 at 5:30 p.m. They will play the winner of Game 1 . Districts will take place at Cassopolis High School.

Some of our third graders had a special visitor today!
Denise Halgren, children's author, visited our students this morning and read her newly published book from "The Crazy Cat Lady" adventure series. She read them "The Crazy Cat Lady Gets a Puppy."
Mrs. Halgren is a retired teacher and began writing children's books after retirement. Thank you for spending some time with our students today!

This Week in Photos!

Middle schoolers were finally able to go on their field trip yesterday to Howard Park after snow days and cold postponed it. They learned how the ice is made, how to take care of it, and then spent the afternoon ice skating and playing in the park! A perfect Thursday!





Brandywine is now accepting applications for preschool for the 2026-2027 school year. This applies to the Headstart program, as well as the Merritt Great Start Readiness Program. If your child will be 4 by or on September 1, 2026, they are eligible to apply. If they will 4 between September 2 and December 1, they can apply and be on the waitlist until after September 1.

Ms. Gmeiner's DK class had Community Circle time today! They discussed what makes someone a good friend. There are a lot of good little friends in this group!

Brandywine Elementary turned in their ROAR tickets today for some sweet prizes! ROARS tickets are given when a student follows the Positive Behavior and Intervention Supports (PBIS).

The Middle and High School Choirs all earned Division 1 ratings at their respective festivals this week! The Middle School Choir attended District Choral on Tuesday this week, and High School attended District Choral on Wednesday! Of course, the Treblaires were quite successful at District Solo and Ensemble, as well. Congratulations!
