🐾Character Trait of the Week: CURIOSITY🐾
Curiosity is the drive to explore, ask questions, and seek out new knowledge and experiences. It involves a desire to understand how things work, why events happen, and to learn about a wide range of topics beyond what is immediately required.

Students in Ms. Scafaria's Kindergarten class worked on putting their emotions in Zones yesterday! The Zones of Regulation is a framework designed to help children and adults identify, understand, and manage their emotions and behaviors. It was designed to support self-regulation and emotional control.
The model uses four color-coded zones to represent different emotional states:
Blue Zone – Low states of alertness
Emotions: sad, tired, bored, sick
Body feels slow or low energy.
Green Zone – Optimal state for learning and interacting
Emotions: calm, happy, focused, ready to learn
Body feels just right and regulated.
Yellow Zone – Heightened state of alertness but still in control
Emotions: excited, nervous, worried, silly, frustrated
Body feels wiggly or slightly stressed.
Red Zone – Extreme feelings with loss of control
Emotions: anger, rage, panic, extreme excitement
Body feels out of control or unsafe.

These little Bobcat gals spent their recess collecting rocks and creating a fairy garden!

Our district is piloting new math programs, one of which is called Bridges for grades 1, 2, and 3. A key design element for Bridges is Number Corner.
Number Corner is a fun and interactive part of the day where students explore math through patterns, counting, and hands-on activities. Each month, they look for patterns on the calendar, work with collections like cubes or coins, and track how many days they've been in school. Through games and visual tools, students build strong number sense and problem-solving skills in an engaging way.
